Languages Department

Welcome to the Languages Department at Grosvenor Girls’ High, where learners are encouraged to develop confidence in communication, critical thinking skills, and a lifelong appreciation for language and literature. The department is dedicated to inspiring a love for languages while nurturing articulate, thoughtful, and culturally aware individuals.

The department offers English, Afrikaans, and isiZulu, providing learners with opportunities to strengthen their communication skills, deepen their understanding of diverse cultures, and express themselves effectively in both academic and everyday contexts. Through language learning, learners are encouraged to cultivate creativity, analytical thinking, empathy, and an appreciation for South Africa’s rich multilingual heritage.
