Welcome to the Humanities Department at Grosvenor Girls’ High, where we are proud to nurture creativity, critical thinking, cultural awareness, and essential life skills in our learners. I’m Vanessa Van Dyk, Departmental Head, and I have the privilege of leading a passionate team of educators dedicated to developing well-rounded, thoughtful, and expressive individuals.
Our department encompasses a diverse range of subjects that encourage learners to explore the human experience from multiple perspectives. These include History, Geography, Dramatic Arts, Consumer Studies, Visual Arts, Tourism, Technology, Creative Arts, and Life Orientation.
At the heart of our department is a commitment to equipping learners with the knowledge, values, and skills needed to succeed in a dynamic and interconnected world. Whether it’s through artistic expression, understanding human history and geography, or developing practical life skills, our aim is to inspire and empower every learner.
